DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were 12 games played today and a couple were close ones. Newark was a 7-6 winner over Midlakes-Red Jacket. Irondequoit defeated Pittsford by a score of 7-6. Hilton and Thomas played a close game until the last quarter when the Cadets took off. CA was a 10-6 winner over Penfield and Marcus Whitman was a 10-7 winner over Gananda.

Hilton at ThomasHILTON-7 at THOMAS-4 - In a game that was close until the final quarter, The Cadets scored two goals at the end of the third quarter in the last minute and a half to take a 5-4 lead after three quarters. Hilton, who lifted their record to 3-5 had just defeated Pittsford 9-8 on Tuesday. Tyler Speers recorded 8s/7ga = 53% (48 mins) in the goal. Leading the scoring for Gananda were Brayden Dohse (2g-1a), Jacob Michaels (2g-1a), Jase Smith (2g), Mason Groh (1g), and 7th grade midfielder Brody Daciw (1a). MIDLAKES-RED JACKET-6 at NEWARK-7 - This game came right down to the last quarter as the teams tied 2-2 in the first, 3-3, in the second and 6-6 in the third. Scoring for Newark were Sam Underhill (2g-2a), Devon Bulman (2g), John Camblin (1g), Lucas Herd(1g) and Luke Taylor (1g) who scored his first Varsity goal for the Reds. Hilton at ThomasIRONDEQUOIT-7 at PITTSFORD-6 - The was an exciting and close game. Irondequoit led 3-2 at the half and then led 5-3 after three quarters. The Panthers scored three goals in the final stanza, but it was not enough as Irondequoit sophomore midfielder Dylan Carey scored his two goals, which made the difference. Irondequoit extended their winning streak to five wins and are now 8-2. Cooper Moore (3g), Jonah Carrier (1g-1a), Dylan Carey (2g), Oliver Grisdale (1g-1a), and Colin Giudice (1a) made the offensive book for the Eagles. DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were 11 games played today and 5 were close ones. Spencerport was a 10-9 winner over HFL. Fairport defeated Greece Storm by a score of 5-4. Victor defeated Thomas by a score of 8-6. Livonia-Avon defeated Midlakes-Red Jacket by a score of 8-6. 

Newark at Pal-MacBLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-7 at MYNDERSE-13 - Both Junior attackman Griffin Hilimire (4g-3a) and Senior midfielder Dylan Tandle reached their 50th career goal in the game that also saw offensive numbers from Jack Brady (4g-1a), and Phillip Love (2g-1a). Leading the scoring for Bloomfield-Honeoye (2-2) were John Blair (3g-2a), Liam Roach (3g-1a), and Tyler Bruder (2g). Facing specialist Cody Whittaker had just over half the draws (13+/12- = 52%) and in the goal junior Ethan Stoddard recorded 14s/13ga = 52% (48 mins). # 3409  Saturday: All Set for The Championships

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The teams are now complete for Tuesday and Wednesday nights at St. John Fisher University, where the 2023 Section V champions will be determined. In the Class B semi-finals, Irondequoit came out with the first three goals, but Victor came back with the win. In the second game at Pittsford Sutherland, in a close game that was not determined until the fourth quarter, Spencerport defeated Schroeder 6-4, sending the Rangers to their first Sectional finals. In Class D, Penn Yan scored four goals in the first quarter and led at the half 7-3 on their way to a 13-3 win over Marcus Whitman. Aquinas scored four goals in the first quarter and five in the second and led 9-2 at the half.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - All of the quarterfinals in classes B and D were won by the higher seeded team except for # 7 Schroeder who, in a very low scoring close game, defeated #2 Canandaigua and will move on to play Spencerport in the semi-finals on Friday. Victor, who beat C-C will play Irondequoit, who beat Brighton. In Class D, Aquinas beat Haverling and will play Newark who beat Mynderse. Penn Yan beat Bloomfield-Honeoye and will play Marcus Whitman who beat Gananda.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - It took overtime after seven ties for the Rangers to beat McQuaid Jesuit 10-9. Brighton scored first and never looked back as they beat Aquinas 11-8. An unmatched goal in the fourth quarter was one goal less than the Saints needed as Livonia-Avon won 8-7. Penn Yan has an overtime loss against a strong Lake Shore team from Buffalo and Schroeder held the Hawks scoreless in three quarters for their 5-3 win in Corning.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder.

Other local winners were Irondequoit, Pal-Mac, Schroeder, Fairport, Geneva, Spencerport, and Marcus Whitman.
